A certified financial finance director (CGFM) is a professional certification issued by the Association of Public Accountants (AGA) in the United States. Those who do not systematically comply with these requirements run the risk of the organization withdrawing its certification.
CGFM applicants must have at least two years of professional experience in government financial management before receiving their designation as CGFM. The experience requirement is not a prerequisite for taking exams; however, CGFM certification is required.
To take any of the CGFM exams, you must have a degree from an accredited university. If you have a foreign degree, you must provide an evaluation report stating that your degree is equivalent to a US degree (undergraduate or higher) from an accredited college or university.
